The International Medical and Technological University[1] is a private university in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The university is popularly known as IMTU Tanzania, and it was established in 1995 by the Vignan Educational Foundation (VEF) to promote the spirit of South-South cooperation. The university is top-rated amongst the Indian students pursuing MBBS in Tanzania.
The Government of Tanzania recognized this university through the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the charter awarded in 2010 that Tanzania signed.

International Medical and Technological University Tanzania
The International Medical and Technological University, established by the Vignan Educational Foundation (VEF) of Bangalore, India, was Tanzania’s first private medical university. At the invitation of the Late Mwalimu Julius K Nyerere, the First President of Tanzania, the VEF moved to Tanzania with its resources to build IMTU.
