Mysore Medical College Mysore is one of the oldest medical colleges in India, founded in 1924. It is located in the heart of Mysore city, adjacent to the railway station, and is also popularly known as MMC Mysore. The medical college is the 1st college in Karnataka and the 7th in India. This college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and approved by the National Medical Commission. Mysore Medical College is one of the most popular Private Medical Colleges in Karnataka.
Being the first medical college established in a native princely state before independence gives Mysore Medical College and Research Institute a special status. Up until 1952, it was the only medical college in Karnataka. It might have been India’s sixth or seventh medical college.
